Louise Green is the Founder and CEO of Body Exchange Lifestyles INC and the Producer of Platform for Plus Size, www.platformforplussize.com. With a background in Group Fitness and Personal Training, Green is a fitness ambassador to the plus size community and opened Body Exchange in 2008, providing fitness and adventure exclusively to plus size women. Since then she has expanded her company into 6 locations with plans to make fitness and adventure accessible to all Canadians regardless of their size. Through her personal journey along with engaging with her clients she began to realize that there are common threads amongst the plus size community and that their needs were not being met by many service providers. Green made some serious lifestyle changes in 2001 and firmly holds fitness and adventure as the vehicle that lead her to a healthy fulfilled lifestyle, so much so, she left her thriving career as a Talent Agent to pursue helping others change thier lives. Louise’s work has impacted hundreds of plus size clients from a variety of backgrounds. She has worked with Canada’s aboriginal communities, facilitating programs that brought healthy living practices to the Squamish Nation in British Columbia. As well, Louise founded the first Sun Run clinic in Vancouver’s down town East side and lead 37 homeless participants across the finish line. In 2010 her expertise landed her a training role on the hit TV show X-Weighted and Louise was invited to present Body Exchange on the hit CBC TV show Dragon’s Den. Green was also selected as a contributing Fitness Expert for Subway Restaurant’s ‘Commit to Fit’ National contest were she blogged healthy living practices to Canadians seeking better health. As Green pioneers a new concept in the market place, Body Exchange has recieved international media exposure with mixed reviews, from most local media outlets to UK’s Daily Mail, The New York Times, Huffington Post, Time Magazine and Jane XO. Louise is a firm believer in plus size exclusive fitness and advocates and educates those around her of it’s importance and need in today’s world. As obesity statistics grow Louise will rigorously continue on her mission to carve out a space to meet the specific needs of the plus size community.
